Two hackers reportedly recovered $3 million in Bitcoin from an 11-year-old wallet after the owner lost the password.

In 2013, “Michael” stored 43.6 BTC in a password-protected wallet. When the password file became corrupted, experts told him it was irretrievable.

However, hackers Grand and Bruno reverse-engineered the RoboForm password program used by Michael.

By identifying the date and parameters of the password generation, they eventually cracked it in November. Bitcoin’s value had increased, and Michael now holds 30 BTC, worth over $2 million.
