There is a rumor that there is a proclaimed 'voodoo' curse that was recently put on Donald Trump prior to his recent conviction. Is there any media that has that story, or is it all 'made up'? Fake news, perhaps?

This one is really grasping at straws, and then some.

Let’s get a few things straight:

Donald Trump is a professional victim - it’s part of his grift. Every bad thing that happens to him is a consequence, or so he claims, of persecution and intentional harm, something targeted towards him unfairly. He does this largely to gain the sympathy of his loyal base, but more importantly, he does it because it mirrors their own feelings about the state of their lives. Rather than accept any responsibility, they find it easier to blame others - even to the point of being prepared to do harm because of it.

And, most importantly, nothing that has happened to Donald Trump is the result of anything other than his own actions. He has, as is true of everyone else, every opportunity to do the right thing, and has instead chosen to lie, cheat, defraud and engage in corrupt and criminal actions. Thus, he is not the “victim of some curse” or “being persecuted” or “being targeted by corrupt individuals”: he is simply experiencing the consequences of a lifetime of immoral, dishonest and illegal behaviour.

However…he can’t acknowledge the latter part, both because of his narcissistic tendencies and because it wouldn’t play well to his base. It’s far better to feed into their paranoia by claiming that “the deep state is out to get us”, and certainly better for his wallet, since every time he makes such claims, donations pour in from people who feel that a billionaire can’t effectively fund his own legal defense against allegations made.

It’s nothing more than a con - and a tiresomely predictable one at that. It amazes me that some Americans simply can’t see Trump for what he is.
